BIOGRAPHY

Adler was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 11 January 1905. She was the youngest of five children born to parents who immigrated from the Russian Empire. She grew up on the South Side of Chicago, where her father owned a hardware store that made deliveries with the help of a horse living in a barn behind their house. Her father died when she was still a child. Her family moved to the North Side afterwards. Her older brother died in World War I.

At some point, she married Sidney Adler.

When she turned 50, she started a market research firm called Adler-Weiner Research in her den and retired at the age of 89. At the time of her passing, the firm remained open and comprised four locations in Illinois and California.

When asked, she didn’t know the secret to her good health, but she occasionally attributed it to chicken fat. In the months leading up to her passing, her hearing had worsened. Shortly before her death, she fell ill.

Adler passed away in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 12 March 2016, at the age of 111 years, 61 days.
