Pedro María Molina Márquez was born in Chacantá, Merida on 27 April 1915. He was the eldest child born to parents Francisco Molina Molina and Leocadia Marquez Contreras. Throughout his life, he has worked a variety of jobs, ranging from day laborer, farmer, rancher, horse farmer, coffee grower, bricklayer, winemaker, and landscaper.
At the age of 27, he married Adelia Montes Contreras, and the couple would have seven children together. The couple remained together for 21 years until Adelia passed away on 8 August 1963. A widower with young children, his sisters and mother helped raise his children while he worked. He married for a second time at the age of 45, to Herminia Montes Reinoza, and the couple would also have seven children. At the time of his 100th birthday in 2015, he had 60 grandchildren, more than 100 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
On 2 April 2024, following the death of 114-year-old Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, he became the oldest known, documented living man in Venezuela.
