LongeviQuest is deeply saddened to report the passing of Mr. Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, recognized as the world’s oldest living man, who passed away on Tuesday, April 2nd, at his residence in San Jose de Bolivar, Venezuela.
Born in the small town of El Cobre, he spent most of his life in the Venezuelan state of Tachira. In 1938, he married Ediofina del Rosario García, with whom he had 11 children. His wife died in 1997 after nearly 60 years of marriage.
On 18 January 2022, following the death of 112-year-old Saturnino de la Fuente García of Spain, Pérez Mora became the oldest living man in the world, at the age of 112 years, 236 days. He celebrated his 114th birthday in 2023.
At the time of his passing, at the age of 114 years, 311 days, he held several longevity titles, including being recognized as the fourth-oldest man ever whose age has been fully validated, the oldest validated man ever to have lived in South America, and the fourth-oldest living person globally.
