It is with great sadness that LongeviQuest has to report the passing of Enriqueta Moreno Casares, the second-oldest known living person in Mexico.
Mrs. Moreno Casares passed away in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, on 17 June 2023, at the age of 112 years, 337 days.
Born in Charcas, San Luis Potosí on 15 July 1910, she moved to the State of Coahuila at some point in her life. Allegedly, she had met Pancho Villa in the early 1920s. She never married nor had children. She was known as “señora Quetita”.
Her age has been listed as a pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) since August 2020, but the validation process was never completed due to lack of mid-life evidence. At the time of death, she was the second-oldest living person in Mexico whose age is fully or partially documented, behind 113-year-old Susana Gutiérrez Godoy of Zacatecas.
Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Mrs. Moreno Casares.
