LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Fusae Miyamoto of Japan. She was born on 15 October 1911.

At the age of 100, Miyamoto met soprano singer, Ayako Murakami, when she traveled by train to visit her parents’ graves. Murakami kindly helped a stranger, Miyamoto, get on and off the train, and during the train ride, Miyamoto told Murakami about her life history for about 15 minutes. Part of Fusae Miyamoto’s biography became known when Murakami published the contents of that conversation on her blog.
According to Murakami’s blog, Miyamoto was physically weak in her youth, to the point she could not stand up when she was four years old. She also went blind in one eye at the age of 7. These health conditions prevented her from attending primary school. Her frail health was later improved by acupuncture and her eyes and legs were completely cured.
At the age of 18, she left the home of her relatives on the farm to work in a textile mill. When she reached 20, she contracted tuberculosis. Due to her misfortunes and hardships that have continued since her childhood, she lost hope for life many times, but she became strong both physically and mentally after joining her religion.
She passed away in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan on 27 April 2023 at the age of 111. At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Following the death of 110-year-old Toshiko Inoue on 6 October 2021, she became the oldest known living woman in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Following the death of 111-year-old Shigeru Nakamura on 15 November 2022, she became the oldest known living person in Hiroshima Prefecture.
